Lucky number thirteen – Behind the scenes of Business Warsaw’s may edition

The latest Business Warsaw meeting completely shattered all stereotypes surrounding the supposedly unlucky number thirteen.

The event got off to an exceptionally smooth start for me—thanks to perfect road conditions, I managed to arrive at the venue well ahead of schedule for the very first time.

However, the real surprise came right after stepping through the door. A completely chance conversation led to an amazing discovery—it turned out that one of the attendees and I grew up on the exact same housing estate and share mutual acquaintances. It took traveling a whopping 285 kilometers for us to finally cross paths in the capital. Kicking off the evening like that is an absolute textbook foundation for building relationships.

Three core professional pillars of the evening

• Active client acquisition: The keynote provided incredibly valuable and practical knowledge that aligns perfectly with the current direction of my business growth.
• The art of small talk for introverts: This presentation opened up a completely new perspective for me. I learned how to build metaphorical bridges and leverage a single 'thread' in a conversation to make it a success. Another fascinating takeaway was the idea that introversion in business can sometimes be a conscious excuse to avoid initiating contact.
• Improvisation in everyday life: The final panel demonstrated how improv techniques help navigate a dynamic, ever-changing world, making daily life easier and supporting our mental well-being.

The insights shared represent an immense amount of material to process and reflect upon—but most importantly, to put into immediate practice.

Networking in high gear

Arriving early gave me even more time for what I value most in these kinds of events—networking. The opportunity to exchange ideas both before the official start and after the wrap-up provided an amazing burst of energy for future endeavors.
