New Year, Old Job? Not This Time! – Challenges of 2026
2026 has begun, and work is more intense than ever. Although the project I'm working on remains the same, the scale and nature of new tasks make me feel like I'm opening new doors every day. Recent months have been focused on key system processes.
Business Logic and Data Processing:
I'm still deep in the system's 'guts': generating advanced XML documents, building complex analytical reports, and implementing new process actions. My work covers the full cycle – from visual tweaks through complex functional logic to rigorous unit and integration testing.
Design System in Engineering Practice:
My collaboration with the UX/UI team has reached a new level. I increasingly implement styles based on precise Figma mockups (pixel-perfect) using Design System tokens. This is great training for my eye and precision in CSS-in-JS, where leveraging system scales for spacing and typography is key to maintaining consistency across the entire ecosystem.
The Great Migration: From DevExtreme to MUI:
This is currently one of the most strategic points in my roadmap. I am participating in the process of migrating key components from the DevExtreme library to Material-UI (MUI). This change drives the implementation of a brand-new, refreshed look for actions and reports, significantly modernizing the interface.
This is another valuable addition to my 'programming backpack.' Material-UI (MUI) is familiar to me, but the opportunity to dive so deep into styling details, performance optimization, and ensuring component reusability during such a large migration is a huge plus. Finding the balance between aesthetics and performance in a complex Enterprise project gives me great satisfaction.
Strategy for the Coming Months:
This year looks exceptionally interesting. My plans include a deeper dive into complex PL/SQL database procedures and further frontend performance optimizations. Although I'm already well-acquainted with the project architecture, I'm not slowing down – my priority remains the efficient delivery of User Stories and systematic elimination of technical debt.
That's it for my start to 2026. I have plenty of energy, and the technologies I'm working with offer immense room for growth.
Remember: migrating a library isn't just a facelift – it's an investment in easier code maintenance and a better Developer Experience for years to come.
