Big Event, Big Ideas: My Most Impactful Discoveries from meet.js Summit

Last year I made a promise to myself: I have to attend meet.js Summit.

I kept that promise! It was an intense day filled with insights from top industry experts.

Official event badge – looks sharp! Although I have to admit, I went a bit overboard with the 'padding-left' when typing in my name ;)

The talks that made the biggest impact on me:

  • Role Evolution: Looking at a developer not just as a 'coder', but as a Product Builder taking ownership of the process.
  • AI in the Legacy World: A practical approach to leveraging AI in a developer's daily workflow for maintaining and optimizing mature, legacy systems.
  • Demystifying AI Agents: A solid look at what’s actually possible versus what’s just marketing hype.
  • Offline Support: Technical challenges involved in ensuring app availability in difficult network conditions.
  • AI Alignment: A fascinating look at what happens when AI starts acting autonomously and how to ensure alignment with our goals.

My main takeaways:

  • Tech Inspiration: My notebook is packed with ideas for optimizations and new approaches that I plan to explore for both current and future projects.
  • Destination: Stage: I watched the speakers from a new perspective. Since I plan to start public speaking myself, it was a valuable lesson in presentation skills and knowledge sharing.
  • Networking: Meeting people I only knew from LinkedIn and exchanging experiences face-to-face is always the highlight of such events.

By the main screen – no doubt which event this is. Definitely a day to remember!

Conferences like this allow you to step out of your daily routine and see your work from a broader perspective. Now, it's time to put this knowledge into practice!
